An Introduction by The Very Reverend
Keith Jukes, Dean of Ripon
Ripon Cathedral is one of the oldest sites of continuous Christian worship in Britain.
This website introduces you to the church founded over 1300 years ago by St Wilfrid, but it's not all about the past. Ripon Cathedral is a vibrant centre at the heart of the local community and across the region. These pages will give you a glimpse of the Cathedral's busy life, as well as highlighting our ongoing duty of hospitality to all our visitors and our witness to the Christian faith embodied in this place and lived out through the centuries of its existence.
We hope you will want to discover all this for yourselves at first hand. If you have not yet visited Ripon and its magnificant Cathedral, come soon; and if you have, come again!
