Guides
and Welcomers
Over 100,000 people visit the Cathedral
each year, and it is the job of the Guides and Welcomers to ensure
their
visit is enjoyable and informative.
Guides are generally people with a particular
interest in the history and background of the Cathedral, and a
love of communicating their enthusiasm and knowledge the visitor
who wants more out of their visit than just a quick look round.
The job of the Welcomer is self-explanatory.
We want all visitors to feel welcome when they enter the Cathedral,
and try to ensure that there is always somebody at hand to greet
them and help them with any queries.
If you would like to become a Guide or Welcomer
at Ripon Cathedral, please contact John Wimpress through
the Cathedral
Office.
