Ripon Cathedral hosted a seminar on hill farming as it seeks to support the rural community in the region.

The seminar brought together farmers, planners, bankers and stakeholders such as Yorkshire Water, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Yorkshire Dales Society – together with Local Enterprise Partnerships.
It was the product of discussions held in the recently formed Ripon Cathedral Rural Forum and considered issues affecting the future and sustainability of uplands agriculture and the preservation of a way of life and a landscape cherished by the nation.
It was chaired by the Dean of Ripon the Very John Dobson DL, who said: “Engaging with this great rural region and its particular challenges and opportunities is a priority for us at Ripon Cathedral as we work with our strategic vision, Growing God’s Kingdom.”
