As temperatures plummeted for Ripon’s late night shopping event the cathedral’s boy choristers beat the cold by donning their cloaks, brought out for the first time this Winter!
They were carol singing in the Market Square on December 5 as part of the city’s festivities.
The Dean of Ripon, the Very Rev John Dobson DL said: “Despite the best efforts of the winter weather to dampen spirits, those who came to hear the various choirs on Thursday certainly had their spirits raised.
“The cathedral choir enjoyed getting out their cloaks and processing up to the Market Square to bring some festive cheer. It was a credit to them and to our Director of Music, Andrew Bryden, that they managed to sing so well and with such enthusiasm.”
