Join in our Heritage Projects
Ripon Cathedral is recruiting volunteers to help find and share some of the hidden gems from archives, libraries, and storerooms across the region as part of our 1350 year celebrations.
Our team share online services and talks, organ recitals, behind the scenes photos, blog posts, news stories and all that makes Ripon Cathedral special through printed leaflets and activities, social media, our YouTube Channel, website and weekly eNewsletter.
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, you can now contribute to this experience – helping to share the unique Ripon Cathedral story during our 1350th year. Whether your passion is social media, photography, history, websites, online streaming, virtual tours or you would simply like to be involved with the story of Ripon Cathedral, we want to hear from you!
Many of these roles can be done from home, with options from regular to occasional or one-off volunteering. Volunteering looks great on your CV and regular commitment can count towards Duke of Edinburgh and other volunteering awards.
Projects so far have included an upgraded map of the cathedral, a new family trail and stock photography creation of events and architecture in the Cathedral. Ideas for future projects could include cataloguing and research of the archive, virtual tours and panoramas, a Ripon Cathedral app or anything else you can think of!
